So I subscribe to “Write One Leaf” on Facebook and Tumblr and blah blah blah etc. all those social media mediums and their niche is to give you a writing assignment everyday – to exercise your brain and to get you to just write. You aren’t a writer if you aren’t writing and all that jazz. Today’s assignment is to “write one Leaf on Oncology”.
This of course makes me think of Dr. Wilson and then, obviously, of Dr. House.

That’s a logical progression of thought, right? I mean it’s not like my all time favorite show/character/pretend doctor preoccupation could override sensible thinking is it?

No. No way.

I do love me some T.V. though. I get excited about the fall line up the way kids get excited about summer vacation and fashionista’s anticipate the “New Line”.  I really like how they are putting quality programming on in the summer too.

Drop Dead Diva,

Lie to Me*,

Rizzoli & Isles (Which are based on books that I almost  want to start reading but I don’t want to screw up the show – see example: True Blood: WAY OFF)

But oh – Come fall… I get House back, I get Bones back, I get Criminal Minds back, I get CSI and NCIS and Desperate Housewives and Brothers and Sisters and Parenthood.

OMGosh – Modern Family. I could never forget you! You hilarious best 1/2 hour on T.V. you! I am vindicated in that they took home a slew of Emmy’s and I am also petty enough to be all “I liked them “before”.  I hope they get to stay on FOR-EVER.

I swear I don’t sit in front of the boob tube all day while my brain slowly rots – I DVR all of the above and when I get Ava to sleep I watch a show – and when all the DVRs are full Mike and I have a marathon night after the kids are in bed.

It’s quality “us” time.

He lays with his head in my lap hinting for a head rub, his absolute favorite indulgence – and we watch crime fighters. Yeah- he doesn’t watch the family dramas with me – He likes single word titles, and even better – titles that only use letters.

I love them all. I have missed them and I am glad to have them back. I can’t wait to cuddle up under a sofa throw on a brisk fall evening and catch up with my imaginary friends.
